The average community college graduation rate (within six years) is less than 40% across America. CSN graduation rate at best, is less than 11%. (Ouch!) I would want to be apart of the CSN group that is studying as to why the graduation rate is so low, and what they could do to improve. A wiki could improve/provide input from students as to why they choose not to complete their certificate/degree programs. Most of the time when ask people why they didn't finish college or aren't going, they tell me they don't have the financial means and school is too expensive. I agree college isn't cheap, but there are plethora of avenues to lessen the financial burden. I attempt to take every Dantes and CLEP exam I can take to avoid taking the introduction and basic level course like ENG 101, MATH 95 and etc. $50 bucks for an exam vs. $300+ to take college class, that's an easy decision. I keep my grades up so I can be a candidate for grants and scholarships. I also apply for a lot scholarships and fill out my FAFSA every year. I was just recently awarded the CSN Mission Graduation scholarship, that put a lovely two grand back into my pockets. It wasn't difficult.
